We found it! We found it! I didn’t have to pay for a lost library book after all. Woot! Woot!
Ok, enough cheering. On with the review…
“I AM BORED!”
How many times have you heard a child say this? How many times have you said it yourself? Children will definitely not be bored while reading Too Princessy! The boisterous illustrations with no more than four words per page means it’s a quick read, which is great when you can’t sit down and read a long book. Also, good for car rides. Memorize the text and you can “read” it to your kid while driver.
A young girl has a box of toys. She quickly retrieves and rejects every toy in the box. Finally, all she’s left with is a box and her imagination. When reading make sure to take note that the box and a rather expressive wind-up duck appear in every illustration.
Jean Reidy’s website has a very comprehensive (we’re talking 20-pages) curriculum guide for Too Princessy! Also, Kelly Shilts has a great Pinterest board loaded with craft activities. I’ve actually made the No-Sew Tutu from Make It and Love It that Kelly has a link to on her board. It’s definitely a magical moment when you see a little princess dancing in her tutu.

Disclaimer: If you child is anything like my three-year old daughter, she’ll want to read Too Princessy! over, and over, and over, and over… until you scream. Umm, ahem, I meant that figuratively. Ok, maybe not. After all, my daughter did love the book so much she stole it from my library bag. Repeatedly. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This looks like a book that my sister would love!
I’m sure she would! It’s a great book.
Love the sagging crown. The theme sounds cute. Boxes are always the best! Nice review.
